Robert K. Firsten is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment, Litigation, Auto Dealer, and School and Public Entities Practice Groups. He has extensive experience representing businesses, public sector organizations, and individuals in employment litigation, employment law compliance, and complex litigation matters, in state and federal trial and appellate courts. He has  practiced before governmental agencies including the U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, and Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth.
 
Mr. Firsten counsels employers and individuals on a wide range of employment matters, including discipline and discharge, employment contract, discrimination, workplace harassment, wage and hour law, policies and practices, disability and medical and leave issues.  
 
He earned his B.G.S. degree from the University of Michigan, and his Juris Doctor degree from the Michigan State University College of Law . He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan-Employment Law Section, and admitted to practice before United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, United States District Court, Western District of Michigan, United Stated Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit, and United States District Court, Northern District of Indiana. 
 
Mr. Firsten has published articles and lectured to trade and business organizations on various employment issues. He is AV Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest Peer Review rating for legal ability and ethical standards. He was also recognized as a Top Lawyer in Metro Detroit – 2010 by DBusiness Magazine.
