Michael J. Weikert is a shareholder with the firm and is a member of the Auto Dealership and Litigation practice groups. He concentrates his practice on real estate and commercial litigation with an emphasis on auto dealer law including representation of franchised auto dealers and dealer related litigation. He was honored as a Michigan Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2008 and 2009 in the franchise/dealership category. Michael, along with firm attorneys Robert Weller and John Youngblood, were the only attorneys in the state recognized in the franchise/dealership category in the 2008 Michigan Super Lawyer rankings.
Michael received his B.A. Degree from the University of Michigan in 1994 where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity and his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University in 1997, where he was a member of Moot Court, the school's Appellate Advocacy Organization.
Michael is licensed to practice in the State of Michigan and in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He is a member of the Michigan State Bar and the Oakland County Bar Association. Additionally, Michael serves as a board member to the University of Michigan Phi Delta Theta Alumni Board.
Michael and his wife, Kelly, reside in Rochester Hills.
